Water Displays

Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre (GCCEC) can supply water for display tanks, spas and small pools.

Water orders due: 17 July 2026

Water will be supplied and drained by GCCEC -

  • Water supply comes from a water pit in the floor
  • Floor pits at GCCEC are supplied with potable water
  • Items are filled using a hose and pressure similar to domestic garden hose i.e. not industrial strength water pressure, nor powerful drainage pumps

If an exhibitor requires a large volume of water which will take too many hours to fill and drain, GCCEC may require the exhibitor to book their own water tanker, through an external supplier.

How to order and pay for water filling and draining

  1. Complete the GCCEC Plumbing, Water, and Waste request form
  2. Email your form to exhibitorservices@gccec.com.au
  3. GCCEC will then contact you to confirm your requirements and prepare your quote.

Order your water by Friday 17 July 2026.

Onsite operations

A representative of your company must be onsite when your items are being filled and drained.

Times will be confirmed closer to the expo.

Wise Connections and GCCEC will work together on finalising a Move In & Move Out schedule that suits exhibitors’ water needs, while ensuring a safe build space and loading dock. Water filling and draining times will be confirmed close to the event.

Weight load limit

All floor areas within the GCCEC have loading limits per square metre. The floor load allowances for GCCEC are as follows:

  • Loading Dock - 15 kPa (1500kg/m2)
  • Halls 1, 2, 3, 4 - 20 kPa (2000kg/m2)
  • Central Rooms - 15 kPa (1500kg/m2)
NOTE:

Stands numbered 1 – 7 are located in the Central Rooms.
All others expo stands are located in Halls 1 – 4.

Any item weighing more than 1500kg must receive venue approval, including the loading / unloading method, prior to the item being brought onto the GCCEC loading dock.

Water Safety

Develop a safety plan including drowning prevention and safe chemical storage.

It is a GCCEC requirement that any display or structure containing water to a depth greater than 300mm will require at least one (1) responsible person to be always present at the body of water during expo opening hours.

It is planned that exhibitors and visitors will be locked out of the expo hall from the start of the ALL-INdustry Drinks on Wednesday, until Thursday morning.

All bodies of water and barriers must comply with all relevant Australian Legislation and Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC). Approval from the GCCEC is required no later than twenty-one (21) days prior to the event.
