Over recent years at SPLASH! Trade Expo, we have seen impressive custom stands and product displays. We know how important it is for brands to stand out, and recognise the value custom stands bring to the event. Your colour and creativity are welcome.
If you are planning to build a custom stand, the following rules and guidelines apply.
By Friday 29 May 2026, please submit the following information to Wise Connections, for organiser and venue approval. This information is to be submitted via your Exhibitor Plans & Requirements Form on your exhibitor portal. This form will be available by the end of March.
GCCEC reserves the right to request additional information and clarification on all structures being erected.
The design and construction of any temporary building or structure must comply with Building Code of Australia (BCA), National Construction Code (NCC), statutory regulations and be constructed in-line with the relevant Australian Standards. The exhibitor, stand builder and/or designer is responsible for, but not limited to, ensuring:
Complex stands or structures may require documentation to verify that the structure is safe to inhabit e.g. engineer’s certificate, load capacity, or installation as per manufacturer’s directions.
Enclosed stands that have hard or non-pervious ceilings, that obstruct GCCEC’s installed fire detection and suppression wet pipe systems must have an alternative fire solution installed. This can be achieved by the installation of portable fire extinguishers, with appropriate signage, and suitably trained staff.
Floor levels – raised floors, steps, ramps, edging and landings:
Any changes to floor levels present a safety hazard and/or accessibility challenges and must comply with the relevant National Construction Code (NCC), and Australian Standard and Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).
By Friday 17 July, submit to GCCEC your Pre-Event Health and Safety Checklist. This only applies if you are engaging external contractors.
Exhibitors have a responsibility to comply with the WHS Act 2011, WHS Reg 2011, Australian Standards, Codes of Practice and the GCCEC health and safety requirements relevant to their work activities.
The duties of Exhibitors before, during and after the expo extend to those who build and man their stand, as well as those who visit and pass by their stand.
Exhibitors must ensure that those engaged to undertake work on their stand are competent and licensed if applicable.
If you are bringing in items that require rigging, please ensure you understand the mandatory rigging requirements.
