Rigging

Rigging of overhead banners, lighting trusses, and to stabilise high displays, is permitted at SPLASH! Trade Expo 2026, subject to SPASA approval. Rigging is not possible above stands 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7.

Rigged banners and other items can only be rigged above/within your own stand footprint, and must not unreasonably block sightlines to other stands and feature areas.

Rigging plans must be submitted to Wise Connections by Friday 29 May.

Wise Connections will pass on rigging plans to SPASA for concept approval. Final rigging plans will be subject to GCCEC safety approval.

Rigging at GCCEC

Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre (GCCEC) offers full rigging services for exhibitors, or exhibitors can engage their own preferred licensed rigger subject to GCCEC approval.

All rigging top points must be installed and removed by GCCEC. Charges will apply. 

External rigging contractors must carry out rigging installation and removal, at the time confirmed by the event organisers. GCCEC will not permit works on exhibition shell scheme prior to the installation of all rigging points and truss structures, so, adherence to the build schedule is vital.
Prior to work commencing, Contractors are required to provide their:

  • Public Liability Insurance $20 million
  • Certificate of Currency for Work Cover
  • Safety documentation e.g. SWMS, SOP, SWP, JSA, Risk Assessment

If you engage GCCEC full rigging services, you must deliver your banner to GCCEC by Friday 14 August 2026. Please discuss delivery and collection dates with your GCCEC rigging contact.

Working at Heights

Platform ladders or Elevated Work Platforms (EWPs) should be used when working at height. Where possible, work should be undertaken at ground level. 

A Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) must be provided for all work involving EWPs. Additionally, a harness or similar that complies with AS/NZS 1891:2007 and CoP Managing Risk of Falls at Workplaces 2021 is to be worn whenever a person is working at height.
